Going back into the archives for this theme. I photographed some of the flight operations aboard the USS Bon Homme Richard when we deployed to Yankee Station during the Vietnam War. The “hook runner” would free the arresting cable from the tail hook after the bombers would land on the deck. The flight deck was a busy and dangerous place to be.

Black Walnut
Juglans nigra, the eastern American black walnut, is a species of deciduous tree in the walnut family, Juglandaceae, native to North America. It grows mostly in riparian zones, from southern Ontario, west to southeast South Dakota, south to Georgia, northern Florida and southwest to central Texas.
