The theme of the day for January 4, 2025 is #Sponge. The New Boston Historical Society featured family recipes at a social in 2011. Among the treats was a sponge cake created from a 1897 recipe.

Now for something completely different

I’ve been reviewing newspapers and documents from the 1800s, There was a booklet of illustrations from a D.C Johnston of Boston. It was quite odd and I’m confused as to whether it was supposed to humorous. Presenting the cover of “Scraps 1830”.
