Southwestern Corn Chowder & Curried Chicken Salad

Mother Hubbard’s Ladle

Each Monday Rachel Lenardson posts a featured takeout soup selection on her Facebook Page (Mother’s Hubbard’s Ladle). In the last year, she has added salads to the menu. During the week she prepares the food in her “soup caboose” for pickup on Fridays (11AM - 6PM) and Saturdays (11AM - 1PM).

Frozen soups are usually available at a discount. I usually stock up on my favorites for a quick lunch.

Pickup is at the Soup Caboose at 57 Hubbard Pond Road which is a right turn off Timbertop Road in New Ipswich. It took me a while to figure out that she named her business after the road… Mother HUBBARD’S Ladle.

A featured salad last week was Curried Chicken Salad with Pita Bread. It was one of my favorites. All fresh ingredients, no chemicals.

Ingredients - Chicken, curry, mayonnaise, lime, cilantro, sprouts, carrots, Cukes, pita bread, greens, tomatoes, scallion, creamy lemon dressing, nasturtium flowers, salt, pepper

Southwestern Corn & Black Bean Chowder

I chose a frozen soup for lunch. No fancy photo though. I do have a photo of the empty container. It was tasty, nicely seasoned.
