Wednesday Picture Theme is #Rose

My Favorite

The theme of the day for September 11, 2024 is #Rose. My favorite is the wild Rosa rugosa that one can find growing along the shores, the “beach rose”. It is incredibly fragrant and blossoms are set off against the dark green foliage. It is tough and reslient.

I’ll include an image of what most people think of as a rose. Often you will see someone holding it to their nose. I don’t know why they bother, the scent has been bred out for longevity and ease of shipping. I’ll take the wild one anyday.
